Manual Turner/Cylindrical Grinder

Main purpose of job:-

To manually turn high precision parts (5 micron) using OKUMA centre lathe plus Cylindrical Grinding (Jones & Shipman 1300X), primarily to assist in the manufacture of Rotors, in a temperature controlled environment.

 

Qualities we are looking for:-

 Preferably apprentice trained manual turner, who is able to work to high tolerances
Able to work using their own initiative.
Willing to be flexible, and prepared to take on additional duties, such as Cylindrical Grinding
Ability to meet deadlines.

Duties:-

•    Turning of Rotors, to leave grinding allowance on.
•    Grinding of Rotors (training will be given if required)
•    Final turning of Rotors after grinding.
•    Turning a variety of low volume parts
•    Polishing parts prior to plating to ensure good surface finish.

 

Remuneration package is negotiable and based on experience.
